This is a brown transfer printed dish made in the Pekin pattern and stamped M-P with the British coat of arms. I believe that the M-P stands for the Middlesbrough Pottery Co. of Yorkshire, England, active from 1834 to 1844 The pattern features a gentleman and lady with a parrot. The dish measures 5 7/8 in diameter and has some depth, with a height of 1 1/4 at the upturned edge. It does have a tiny chip and small crack at the edge in the same area, but otherwise is in very good condition. This dish is interesting for its age and pattern - nice small display piece..
