What makes the Boston Railroad 008 unique: Founded 125 years ago, Buick has an extensive history of luxury manufacturing and is now the oldest surviving American carmaker. Inspired by the founder’s ancestral coat of arms, its familiar logo was updated in 1959 from one shield to the red, white, and blue tri-shield we know today. The pocket watch within the Boston Railroad 008, originally manufactured in 1901, must have been updated sometime in the 1960s with the more current Buick logo and brand name and was most likely given to a customer as a gift upon sale.
Just as the Buick name and emblem represent the highest standards of quality and design, so too does this incredible Waltham Watch Company pocket watch. A pristine white dial that has also been labeled with the Waltham name is accented by slender black Roman Numerals and minute track and blued steel spade hands. The real magic of this piece, though, is the movement. Boasting 23 jewels and the renowned Vanguard grade name, this is one of the most accurate and highest quality pocket watches ever made. We’ve converted it into a distinguished wristwatch with our 49mm stainless steel railroad case, coin-edged bezel, and a striking black leather strap.
Note: this watch features a lever set, railroad grade pocket watch To set the time, the whole front of the watch must be removed, exposing the dial and hands.
